Pigment spots on the face, hands, décolletage area often appear in women and men, who have been sunbathing a lot during their lives. Freckles, which are perceived as being cute during childhood, can later be perceived as annoying skin flaws.
Apart from external treatment with high light protection, bleaching cremes or superficial peelings, unpleasant dark discolorations can be effectively removed by a targeted laser treatement, with the Nd-YAG laser or the Alexandrit laser. Both lasers focus on the pigment excess, and scatter the coloured pigments. Since light energy only aims on the darkly coloured pigments, surrounding skin is spared.
Treatment proceeds with only minor adverse reactions, such as spotty redness or scabbing. Only one to two sessions are necessary. Suitable for laser treatment are benign pigment disorders on all body parts. To exclude malignant akin alterations, we will perform a dermatological skin screening beforehand.
