Enlarged veins on the face are due to genetic predisposition. These enlarged vessels can occur in an isolated way, or as part of the inflammatory skin disease Rosacea. Redness, enlarged veins, pimples and swelling in the facial area are typical of Rosacea. It especially affects fair-skinned adults. Sun, sauna, alcohol, hot spices and the application of wrong skin products can amplify this.
Treatment with a dye laser can help. In our practice, we use KTP- or pulsed dye laser can remove the red veins, usually within one to four sessions. Our Nd:YAG Laser, however, is more effective when treating larger, blue veins (telangiectasias) and spider veins. During personal consultation, you will be comprehensively informed about the effects, adverse reactions, and costs of this laser treatment. In this, your skin disease will be individually assessed, and alternative treatment and accompanying therapies will be discussed.
